May We Introduce Ourselves?

We use the term Christian Church  not as a denominational designation, but rather as a descriptive term indicating that our congregation is a nonsectarian fellowship. That is, the source of our identify is not a religious label, but simply in that we are followers of Jesus Christ.

We are affiliated with thousands of other Christian churches throughout the world. In this association, there are no headquarters or governing boards. Each congregation is self-governing and autononmous. Individual congregations do work together in support of benevolent, educational, and mission works; however, participation in these projects is strictly voluntary.

Our Program and Our People

Consistent with our faith, Jesus Christ and the Bible are at the heart of our services. Weekly observation of the Lord's Supper is a focal point of our worship, and all followers of Christ are welcome to participate. We emphasize prayer and Bible study in our worship services.

The members of Scotch Plains Christian Church, along with other friends and visitors who attend our services, represent a variety of ethnic and cultural heritages and work in a wide assortment of professions and occupations.
