Our Beliefs
Since God invested all authority in Christ, and since He serves as God's
spokesman (Hebrews 1:1-2), and since only the New Testament sets forth His
teachings, we strive to make the New Testament scriptures the basis for all
matters of faith, doctrine, and Christian behavior. This is not to say that
the Old Testament is to be set aside, but only that the earliest pattern
for the Church is set forth in the New Testament.
In elemental commands of the Bible, our plea is for unity of interpretation
and response to the clear teaching of God's Word. In the non-essential matters
of opinion, our plea is for the freedom to hold and share differences with
discretion and courtesy befitting followers of Christ. In all things, our
aim is love.
Doug McCulley, along with his wife Brenda, has served this congregation since
July 1985. He has a degree in Biblical Studies from Ozark Christian College
and a Master's Degree in Counseling from Southwest Missouri State University.
Because of his concern for families, he also participated in the Family Institute
training program in Springfield, Missouri. Please feel free to call on him
with questions regarding the church family at (908) 377-3655.
